Who Watches The Watchmen? Things

I’ve practically been buried under a multitude of Things (not unlike Kirk and the Tribbles) and it’s taken me awhile to dig out.  Actually, it’s all threatening to avalanche down on me again.  Which is why I find a lot of amusement in my new office wall clock: the Watchmen Doomsday Clock!  “It’s five minutes ‘til midnight” has become the code phrase I use when the piles of Things to do on my desk threaten to overwhelm. 

Everyone I’ve talked to has a different opinion of the movie adaptation of Alan Moore’s Watchmen.  It’s ranged from “Yes, it was a nice montage of images” (said sarcastically) to “I hated the movie ending” or “I loved the movie ending.”  Myself?  I really did enjoy the movie though I still prefer the alien ending from the novel.  One thing I was really impressed with: Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach.  What a performance!  I’ve been very tempted to snag one of these Rorschach Messenger Bags.

We also have a really cool Watchmen cap (I like that it’s gray and not the typical black cap you’d expect to see) and Watchmen T-shirt (with the graphic novel art). 

Keep checking back – word on the street is that we’re expecting a Rorschach face mask/beanie.  I can’t wait to walk around the office with that on, spooking people as I spout Rorschachian lines like “Never compromise” as they face the countdown of looming deadlines (which can feel like Armageddon...).
