The Future Begins...
I admit it. I've seen the new Star Trek movie more than once. More than twice even. Sailing through space into the unknown with all those cool sci-fi gadgets and gizmos is the ultimate adventure to a technology junkie like me. I can't help it--I'm a Trekkie. I might not go to the conventions with my Spock ears on, but I collect all Things Star Trek.
Our newest Trek Things are the coolest yet. Some are inspired by the movie, others recall the old TV series. Either way, they are Things I couldn't possibly live without! Like this TOS Tricorder. Based on the classic 23rd century design, the replica has sound and light effects, plays six different phrases and even has the removable scanner. And you can't go on an away mission without a phaser and communicator! Our life-size replicas of the phaser and communicator have authentic sound effects from the original series. The phaser has adjustable power settings and a break-away design so you can separate the type one phaser from the black pistol grip. The communicator pops open just like the real Thing and has voice clips from the TV show. Must-haves for any Trekkie's collection!
Another must-have is this incredibly detailed replica of The Federation's flagship, which was destroyed at the end of the movie Generations when it crashed on Veridian III. Every detail of the Galaxy-class USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D has been recreated, right down to the separating Saucer Section. And it also has light and sound effects taken directly from the TV series. "Let's make sure history never forgets the name 'Enterprise!'"
I wasn't surprised to learn that these Star Trek shirts are some of our best sellers. Both sets of shirts come in red (engineering), blue (science) and gold (command). The t-shirts are great for everyday use because they're 100% cotton and really easy to wear. The movie-inspired shirts are fitted and come with a dickie and crew pin. I'm thinking of building my Halloween costume around my movie shirt. Blue, for science, of course.
That reminds me, I'd better start planning for Halloween! Let's see what kind of spooky, scary, sci-fi, silly and supernatural Things I can find...
See you next week, Bobby
