Friday, September 11, 2009Random ThingsEvery now and then I go poking through the warehouse and find random cool Things that I just can't live without. This week I want to share my favorites with you. Who can't use a little extra coin these days? These vintage U.S. silver coins haven't been in circulation for a long, long time. They are the best collectible quality on today's coin market. Silver prices are rising all the time and coins like these are in high demand, but short supply. The bag includes a Morgan Dollar, a Peace Dollar, four Kennedy Half Dollars, nine Washington Quarters, six Mercury Dimes and a lot more. They'd be worth over $400 if you bought them separately, but we offer them at a deeply discounted price. Or you can own a proof of the largest gold coin ever made in the U.S. This proof, a tribute to the 1877 $50 Gold Half Union Coin, is replicated in amazing detail. It's crafted in 24kt gold clad bronze, is almost 2 inches in diameter and weighs 1.75 troy ounces. For saving a little coin, we have this Barack Obama bank. As our clever copywriter says, "It's a natural fit -- after all, he based his campaign on the platform of change!" The bank's base even has the word "change" printed on a ribbon under Obama's handpainted likeness. It's sculpted of resin for durability and has a deposit slot in back. When you've saved enough, you can empty the bank from the bottom of the base.![]() I bought this laser pointer a while ago, but it's still one of my favorite Things. It has a very intense green beam and a nighttime range of about 10,000 feet. The beam is so strong, it can be seen on clear nights and the dot is even visible on low clouds. It's great for indoor or outdoor presentations, day or night, but my favorite use for this Thing is driving my sister's cats nuts. Maybe I'm easily amused, but I'll let those silly kitties chase the beam or dot for hours. I really don't like going to the gym or exercising just for the sake of of the activity. I like riding my bike or walking on the beach, but I'm just not into working out. That's why I decided to try the Ab Belt. I just put it on, choose from one of four "workout" modes, and settle in to watch TV, read a book (or play laser light with the cats) while the program runs. The electrical stimulation makes your muscles contract, which strengthens them with no effort, no sweating and no waiting in line for workout machines at the gym. You can actually feel your muscles working, too. It's been clinically tested and says I'll see results in less than two weeks. I'll let you know! Two very useful Things are this lock picking set and the windshield cleaner. I like the lock pick set because I occasionally lock myself out of my house and it's a pain to find a locksmith and then wait until they arrive. This set has a manual that was written by a locksmith to help people just like me. It's easy to understand with pictures and great instructions on how to pick pin tumbler locks. It has four different picks, a tension wrench comes in a leather pouch. I keep it in my glove compartment so it's always handy. The Windshield Wonder makes cleaning your interior windshield and other tough to reach glass surfaces really easy. It has a pivoting head designed to fit into tight spots and the micro fiber cleaning cloth cleans with ordinary tap water. Finally, my windshield is clean from dash to top and corner to corner!![]() For adults only, I found these a couple of really racy Things. I think the Jingle Jugs would make a hilarious Christmas decoration (if I didn't have my young nieces and nephews around, of course). The pair of "jugs" are mounted on a plaque and they jiggle to the song "Titties and Beer" by Rodney Carrington. You can mount them on the wall or use the display stand. You can even set them on motion-detect mode to surprise your friends! Watch the video to see how they work. This Adam & Eve mug shows the couple in the Garden of Eden, clad in their fig leaves. But add a hot drink and the leaves disappear to reveal their privates. Those are just some of the Things I like this week, but I'm out of time and space. I'll see you next week, Bobby |
