Things You Never Knew Existed has partnered with Canada Post's Borderfree Service to allow you to see your total "landed price" including all duties, taxes, shipping and handling charges in Canadian dollars before you place your order. This eliminates surprises when your package arrives, ensures faster shipping and takes the hassle out of shopping online.

Simply click on the "Shop in Canadian Dollars" icon at the top right of any web page to see Canadian pricing as you add items to your Shopping Bag or before you begin check out. You will see your total "landed price" including all duties, taxes, shipping and handling charges in Canadian dollars before you place your order. You will pay Canada Post's Borderfree Service the total amount for your order in Canadian dollars (which means that they will bill your credit card) and we will ensure that products get right to your door.

BulletShipping Information for Canadian Orders

We are dedicated to getting your package to you when you expect it. To ensure adequate delivery time, please use the guidelines below. If you must receive a package by a given day, you may also call our customer service center for help in choosing a ship method.

Standard Shipping
Orders reach you within 8-13 business days of our receipt of your order, when items are in stock.
Expedited Shipping
Orders reach you within 6-8 business days of our receipt of your order, when items are in stock.
Express Shipping
Orders reach you within 4-6 business days of our receipt of your order, when items are in stock.

NOTE: You must provide a telephone number, and a signature is required at time of delivery.

BulletBilling, Taxes and Duties for Canadian Orders

Billing
Borderfree will bill your credit card once your order clears the Canadian border.
What to expect when you receive your credit card statement:
Upon shipment, our international service provider, Borderfree, will bill your order to your credit card and "Things You Never Knew Existed WEB/PH ORDER (BORDERFREE)" will appear on your statement.
Exchange Rate
Real-time exchange rates are applied to your orders. The rate charged to you is a guaranteed amount - this will not change once you accept an order. To know the exact price before you buy, simply add items to your order and check out through our Canadian Check Out. You will see the exact price for your order in Canadian dollars before you actually place the order.
Taxes
Borderfree is required to charge to all Canadian customers GST/HST as applicable depending upon the Province to where the shipment is made. GST/HST as it applies to the product and duty values is a reimbursement to Borderfree for the GST/HST paid by Borderfree on your behalf when the goods clear customs. Borderfree will also charge you GST/HST on the Borderfree Shipping and Handling and/or Return Handling Fees. Any shipments made to Ontario addresses will be assessed the Ontario Resale Sales Tax ("PST") by customs upon crossing the border; Borderfree pays this on your behalf and includes the amount to be reimbursed by you to us in your quote.

Determining your duty rates depends on many factors (the product, the country in which the product was manufactured, etc.) Simply click on the "Shop in Canadian Dollars" icon at the top left of any web page to see Canadian pricing as you add items to your Shopping Bag. You may also shop in US dollars and then click the icon before you begin check out. You will see all duties, taxes, shipping and handling charges in Canadian dollars before you place your order.

Important Note: If you begin checkout before clicking the icon you must return to the Shopping Bag, click on the "Shop in Canadian Dollars" icon and begin checkout again.

BulletReturn Policy for Canadian Orders

We have guaranteed your satisfaction on all of our products since 1914. If you're not satisfied for any reason, we will refund the merchandise amount only within 60 day of purchase. All merchandise should be returned in like new condition, with original packaging, accessories, parts, instructions, manuals, etc.

All returns will be subject to Things You Never Knew Existed and Canada Post's Borderfree Service's return policies. Subject to its then current return policies, Canada Post's Borderfree Service will facilitate the return to Things You Never Knew Existed. Canada Post's Borderfree Service does not guarantee that any product will be cleared through customs or that Things You Never Knew Existed or applicable government authorities will issue any refund. Any credit issued, including for gift returns, will be issued to the credit card used in the original purchase and will include the original cost of the product plus any duties and taxes originally charged, less any return charges imposed by Things You Never Knew Existed or Canada Post's Borderfree Service and any applicable taxes. Canada Post's Borderfree Service also reserves the right to recover any actual logistics costs incurred in the processing of a return back to Things You Never Knew Existed's returns facility in the form of a reduced credit, unless otherwise instructed by Things You Never Knew Existed.

When your order arrives, you will find a packing list inside the carton. Should you wish to exchange or return merchandise, please take the following steps:

  1. Please contact our customer service team at 1-800-303-9928 or e-mail us at CanadianOrders@thingsyouneverknew.com indicating your order number, the item number and description of the items that you wish to return.
  2. Things You Never Knew Existed will communicate to you the value of your credit. You will be credited for the product value(s) and any related duties and taxes, less the return handling fees for customs and brokerage, if applicable.
  3. We will provide you with a Returns Authorization number (RA#) and advise you of the mailing address of our Canadian returns facility. No returns can be processed without this number.
  4. Carefully pack the items being returned in the original shipping cartons, if possible. Please include a copy of the packing slip that came with your order, the original packaging, accessories, manuals and instructions.
  5. Fill out the Request for Return section located on your packing slip and enclose in your return package to us. Please be sure to tell us the reason for your return.
  6. Address the package to our Canadian returns facility and please be sure to include the Return Authorization Number on the shipping label or package. No returns can be processed without this number.
  7. Take the package to any Canada Post counter and ship to the Canadian address provided. You may wish to insure your package for the full replacement value with Canada Post.
